My Dream for Mental Health Awareness Month

It is Mental Health Awareness month and I have a dream.

I dream that our workplaces are no longer places that challenge our mental health.

I dream that our workplaces are no longer places where we have to hide our mental health challenges.

I dream that our workplaces are a place of collective healing.

What does “collective healing” mean?

To me, it means deep connection to others, seeing each other with kind hearts and hearing each other with curious minds.

How do we create more connection?

It means we are in this thing together, what I do impacts you and what you do impacts me.

How do we move with more care?

It means getting to the root, understanding that the same fears and hurts cause me to act, think, believe one way and you another.

How do we hold space for more mess?

It means believing that we can do and be different, it's not resignation to "the way things are" and just getting by.

How do we activate more imagination?

As leaders, we can create this. As leaders it is our responsibility to create this.

What questions can guide you on the path of creating more opportunities for collective healing?
