Take It Back.

❌ Art was never supposed to be only for those who identify as “artists.”
❌ Art was never supposed to be just for those who “can draw” and spend their lives creating artwork.
❌ Art was never supposed to be an exclusive club.

Rather…

✔ Art is supposed to be for every human.
✔ Art is supposed to be for those who can and cannot draw and those who create all the time and those who create every now and then.
✔ Art is supposed to welcome everyone.

It’s time to take it back.

People tell me sad stories all the time:
❕“My teacher told me I wasn't good at art.”
❕"I always got bad grades in art.”
❕“Imposter syndrome stopped me in my tracks.”
❕“I was told it wasn’t worth my time because I couldn’t make a living with it.”

🔅 Take it back from that art teacher who had their priorities mixed up.
🔅 Take it back from the school systems that use unhelpful methods of motivation.
🔅 Take it back from the comparison monster that gobbles up your unique voice.
🔅 Take it back from a society that often forgets how much it depends on creatives.

Take it back for you.
Take it back for all of us.

🖌 Take it back by plunging your hands in a pile of clay because you always thought it would be fun.
🖌 Take it back by doodling in the margins of your notes because it calms you and helps you to focus in an enjoyable way.
🖌 Take it back by spreading paint onto a surface to express an inner feeling that words can’t quite capture.

Take it back without needing to be skillful or talented or productive. Take it back simply because you are a human being who deserves a full spectrum of expression and a place for your inner child to play and connect.

Take it back because it belongs to you. ❤️
