Hello! HowDoodle You Do?

Hello! I’m Karen Light, and my favorite thing about myself is that I’m an Artist. Being an artist has shaped my life—it’s compelled me to weave a rich tapestry of inspiration, people, and opportunities, transform challenges into growth, and stay endlessly curious about what might be next.

I’m also a Creative Productivity Coach and Educator, specializing in activating creativity for fulfilling productivity. I work with visionary individuals and teams who want to make a bigger impact but often feel overwhelmed or stuck when it comes to making meaningful progress.

Why I Started HowDoodle:

For many years, I felt trapped in an overwhelming cycle of responsibilities that left little room for the creative work I loved. Despite having exciting visions in my head, I couldn’t find the time or energy to bring them to life. It wasn’t until a crisis at work left me completely burnt out that I realized something had to change—I needed to commit to being the Creative that I am.

The turning point came when I picked up a small sketchbook and started doodling—a simple act that helped me calm the chaos and reconnect with my creativity. This practice grew into a way of life, and as an Executive Function Coach, I began integrating these creative tools to help others manage overwhelm and make space for their creative dreams.

My Mission:

I believe creativity is integral to making the world a better place. Through HowDoodle, I empower individuals and teams to harness their creative energy, overcome challenges, and make a meaningful impact.

My experience spans corporate educational leadership, community arts, and social justice. I’m a lifelong seeker of personal development, drawing from a variety of modalities to empower others. I hold a BFA from Xavier University, an MA in Cultural Management from City University London, and coaching certifications from the Transformation Academy and the Academy of Modern Applied Psychology (with more in progress).

Let’s activate your creativity and make meaningful progress—together.

Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself. I hope you will reach out and introduce yourself as well! In the meantime, you can continue to follow this journey by checking out my doodle diary and subscribing to my newsletter below!
