One of My Secrets…

I don’t just lead others in doodling in coaching sessions, I often color on my doodles during sessions. 🤭

I used to resist this because it felt wrong and unprofessional.

It's so easy to get caught up in this way of thinking. How we want to do something as a Creative person often feels contrary to what we are told is “right” and “responsible” and “professional.”

But what happens when you trust your creativity a little bit more? What happens when you lean into your way of doing things?

When it came to feeling a pull to doodle while leading coaching sessions, I began to switch my judgment into curiosity. As I explored, I realized there were many benefits: It helps me recenter, it gives me clarity on where to go next with the client, and it generates new ideas around our conversation! (Just to mention a few…)

In other words, I discovered that there are times when this practice is very RIGHT for me and the coach I want to be.

How might you be holding yourself back from your "weird" ways of doing things? Is it just making things harder than they have to be? (I ask that because your “weird” way is what often feels natural, easy, and interesting to YOU!)

☆★ Creative Challenge ★☆ Doodle a time when someone made you feel wrong for how you wanted to do something. Close your eyes and imagine that you did it your way. Find a way to try it out in your current life!

Today I encourage you to embrace those quirky ideas and see what happens!
