HowDoodle I Spark Creativity in My Client Practice?

A 60-Minute Group Workshop for Therapists, Coaches, Mentors, Educators, or Healers

A few years ago, I had hit a wall with an Executive Function Coaching client.  The thought popped in my head that doodling could help.  At first, I ignored the thought because this client was not “an artist” and did not know me as an artist or as a Creative Coach. But the thought persisted and, nervously, I gave in.

Much to my surprise, the client was happy to doodle with me. She relaxed in the process and was able to show me something that she didn’t know how to explain. We even had some chuckles! The energy moved from stuck frustration to joyful, productive interaction.

No matter what kind of coach, therapist, or mentor you are, fresh creativity is an invaluable tool!  This workshop is for you if you relate to any of the following:

You feel unsure where to go with a client.

You are tired of using all the same tools.

Your approaches aren’t yielding the results you hoped for.

Your clients are creatively blocked and you want to help them.

Creativity removes walls and breaks up habitual patterns that lead to the same places.

With some new ways of approaching your work, you will see how lighting up your creativity also lights up the creativity within your clients!  That’s when all your beautiful ideas can come together into a real picture of what is possible and how to get there.

But I Am NOT An Artist!

You are in the right place if you identify as an artist or NOT.

Creativity doesn’t only love artists.  It loves us all and lives in us all!  In my work, I embrace the Spirit of a Doodle and invite you to do the same so that you can unleash that creativity to serve both you and your clients.

During Our Time Together You Will:

Become EQUIPPED with new creative tools you can implement immediately!

You will be presented with at least 3 creative tools to add to your toolkit.  You will also receive a pdf document with an explanation of the tools for your reference.

Become INSPIRED to play with the tools until you shape them to fit you and your clients’ needs!

You will learn about the tools by going through the exercises yourself! (Yes, that means you should bring something to doodle and scratch with and on!)

Become EMPOWERED to develop your own creative tools and practices!

This is just the beginning of what is possible! The goal is to get that spark lit so you can keep being informed and inspired by your clients to develop creative tools that work!

What Sunitha has to say about adding doodles to her coaching practice:

“I help C-suite leaders build practices to expand their leadership impact. One of the ways I do that is to invite them into quiet time during our coaching session. To introduce this practice, I needed a coaching tool. I have always used writing prompts; however, something was still missing because some clients were getting stuck in using the “right words”!

I needed to expand my toolkit. I came across Karen Light’s work and on a whim decided to take one of her doodling workshops. I came away marveling at the simplicity of the doodling process. I started experimenting with it and here is why I believe it is useful to me as a coach:

  • everyone has paper and pencil somewhere in their space (ease of access to a tool)

  • everyone remembers doodling to daydream in their childhood (jogs a forgotten practice)

  • most like knowing that being quiet doesn’t mean that they can’t move (using hands contains restlessness)

The outcomes:

  • there is ease in entering this quiet time (expectations to produce are gentled)

  • there is fairness in the process – the pens and pencils used are commonly found in most desks

  • there is play that helps the brain think wholeheartedly

  • there is harnessing of cognitive and heart diversity in the visual capture

I admire Karen’s talent and her generosity in teaching me how to expand my coaching toolkit to serve my coaching clients.”
