Measuring Success

Don’t do it, Creative.

As the year comes to a close, don’t get caught up in other people’s metrics for success if they don’t feel good to you.

Don’t do it if they feel uninspiring, harsh, irrelevant, foreign, confusing, or forced.

Take a deep breath and let those go…

In the pause, contemplate how you might measure success in a way that fills your soul.

Maybe it’s being brave enough to express yourself authentically.

Maybe it’s redefining a limit as a creative challenge.

Maybe it’s having the courage to do something different than the norm because it works better for you.

Maybe it’s holding fast to boundaries that allowed you to playfully create.

Maybe it’s the way you were able to follow the inspired action as it called to you.

Maybe it was allowing yourself to feel deeply and alchemize it into something new.

Maybe it was simply being able to start a creation you have put off for a long time…

Whatever measurement feels good and true to you - hold that close.

Protect it from the messages of toxic productivity and metrics that will never be deep enough to move you in the way you naturally want to move, Creative.
