Being Seen
I know for me and for many Creatives that I know, the completion of anything we made comes in the form of sharing it.
A big reason we create is to express something. Yes, sometimes it is just for us, but, more often, it is to connect on a true and deeper level with the world outside us.
Paradoxically, the thought of putting our work out there can cause our nervous system to sweat!
For me, the visual image can be the most raw, direct, and truest reflection of a part of me - clearer than any words could capture. It’s a piece of my soul out in the world for others to think and say what they will about it.
I find myself both dying to know what others are thinking and dying to NOT know what they think!
In these moments, as I face the fear and step into it, I feel utterly alive. I am being and becoming more of who I am revealing a more genuine and vulnerable point of connection with others.
Truly being seen by the outside world is a human longing. Funny enough, the journey there is mostly an inner excavation, an inner recognition of all that we are, and an inner permission to show up as we are.
To this end, I offer you a beautiful 60 minutes of practical and conceptual wisdom that can help you have more fulfilling experiences of being seen. The topic of this Sistermind Roundtable is Visibility of Women in Business, and, Creatives, we all need to be in the business of having our creations become more visible!
I have said it many times and I will keep saying it: The world needs your vision and fresh ideas. It needs to be inspired by those like YOU who make what was once only imagined a reality. It’s the kind of magic we all need to believe in again in a time of dire challenges.
